Yoga of the Heart with Ann Averbach & Hannah Muse

Yoga of the Heart, a six day journey back to center at magical Lake Atitlán. Open your heart with yoga, chanting, adventure, community, and Permaculture. Join internationally celebrated yoga teachers: Hannah Muse (happiness expert) and Ann Averbach (community catalyst) on a six day retreat that will change your life!

When a seeker travels to the mystical Lake Atitlán, you can’t help but feel the “incredible energy that permeates every crevice, every cave, every one of the three majestic volcanoes surrounding the lake, and the beautiful Maya people; soon you are aware that there is something very deep and mysterious about this place.”

Put down that constantly buzzing phone and join well-loved yoga teachers Ann & Hannah as they take you on a mystical yoga journey: healing the body, quieting the mind, and tapping into the powerful vortex of energy at Lake Atitlán, while connecting to our own powerful channels of energy (prana) through asana, mantra, meditation and much more – openly receiving the gift of self-care after all your hard work!

Delicious organic food, conscious community, and sacred waters await you.  Sweat and rejuvenate in the tropical heat with Ann’s dynamic power flows, bliss out on daily sadhana, chanting sweet mantra and slow flow with Hannah.  Plus everyday choose optional group outings such as Mayan village visits, waterfall adventures, and more – or else choose relaxing space to lounge lakeside.

These 7 days will be a truly transformational journey and an amazing opportunity to enjoy this exquisite legendary lake and the magic of Guatemala

Ann Averbach

Ann is deeply committed to helping others transform their lives through the yoga journey.  Founder of DiviniTree Yoga Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara,  Ann’s mission is to help build conscious community.  Her classes are uplifting, creative, inspiring, and full of wisdom.  She lives yoga through every breathe, and when she is not on her mat Ann can be found hiking in nature, traveling the world, gardening, or gathering with friends and family over farm to table meals. Ann has spent the last 15 years committed to learning and teaching yoga in its many diverse forms all around the world. From the Himalayas to the Amazon and from Fiji to Kenya, Ann has been harvesting seeds of wisdom and weaving together a tapestry of transformational tools into her life and teachings. Graduating form Northwestern University with a degree in Eastern religion and cultural anthropology (with a specialization in traditional healing methods of indigenous cultures) Ann found yoga as the perfect path for healing ourselves and the planet. Developing her own style, Gypsy Yoga Flow, Ann’s classes are inspiring, transformational, and challenging. Known for her deeply spiritual and yet highly athletic classes, Gypsy Yoga Flow is meant to bring practitioners to an edge and is based on the belief that when we push ourselves out of our comfort zones and walk the edge we truly live. Fusing power vinyasa with the freedom and femininity of dance, the energetic knowledge of chi gong, and the power of kundalini yoga, Gypsy Yoga flow is known for its intense strength building, strongly intention based nature, and deeply intuitive, liberating, circular movements. A committed student of yoga, Ann has a masters degree in education and has completed two 200 hour teacher trainings with Ana Forest and Janet Stone. Constantly immersing herself in teachings to keep her classes fresh,  Ann draws inspiration from her extensive travels and her experiences living with indigenous cultures around the world.  She brings a deep reverence for the earth into her classes and helps build conscious community around the planet.

Hannah Muse

Ever since yoga found her, Hannah’s heart has been bursting open and spilling over with love.  She feels so blessed to live the life of a yogini and is honored to share it with you.  Her classes are more than just a series of physical poses: although you will probably sweat, her teachings encompass pranayama, meditation, mudra, mantra, philosophy and her asana instruction combines therapeutic physical alignment with dynamic pranic flows that will nourish, strengthen and align both your physical body and your subtle energy body.

Hannah is a devotee of this Great Mother Earth and has led many environmental efforts on her behalf. She is eternally grateful to the teachers who have blessed her with wisdom along this path, including Baba Hari Dass whose teachings have inspired her daily sadhana for several years, Kamalesh Hooven, Sianna Sherman, Jane Austin, and many others.  Most of all, her practice is inspired by the grace and unconditional love of her family, especially her 4 year old daughter/Zen master Ruby Bea.
