Partner Yoga and Intro to Acrobatics

The Yoga of Conscious Connection

This class will include cooperative practice with a partner to develop sensitivity, mutual reciprocity, counterbalance and interpersonal connectivity. Work together with a friend to balance one another’s body weight, practice connecting and disconnecting with grace and ease. Learn how to create balance and harmony matched through mutually beneficial postures and exercises. This class will include partner practice with sitting, standing, therapeutic flying, twists, and gentle relaxation massage.

Suitable for all levels and abilities. Some yoga experience is an asset.

 

Wednesday, January 22nd 10-12 a.m

Thai Yoga Massage & Hands on Assists

Making an offering, supporting others

This class will focus on safe, gentle and effective ways to put your hands on your friends to support greater opening during their yoga practice. Particular attention will be paid to alignment principles and hand placement, with emphasis on therapeutic touch and personal boundaries. Thai yoga massage includes relaxation massage and proper flow sequencing for the whole body. This class includes assists in forward bends, backbends, standing poses, and twists.

Suitable for all levels and abilities. Includes backbends and inversions.

 

Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21 and 22st 2:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Level One and Two Acrobatic Yoga

Divine Play and Expressive Arts

Learn to play safely with simple and impressive performance techniques. Practice classic Acro-Yoga postures including Bird, Throne, High Flying Whale, Cross, Nugget and more! Learn alignment principles that support ease and grace. We will also practice some relaxation massage! You will be amazed with the ease of this practice – be ready to surprise yourself!

Suitable for practitioners with some partner yoga experience, who are comfortable with touch.

About the Facilitator...

Susan is a passionate Teacher who currently owns and runs Unity Yoga Teahouse ( www.Unity Yoga.ca) in Vancouver, Canada where she offers public classes in yoga, meditation, acrobatics, thai massage and astrology (www.QuanYin.ca). She leads an inclusive community founded on strong friendships and yogic principles for the many colours and cultures of Commercial Drive.

Susan assists her students to know themselves more fully through their practice by offering gentle guidance and support along a path of self-discovery. She encourages everyone to find their most authentic expression of themselves through serving and teaching one another, inspiring evolution through the connection to our inner voice and the unity of one mind.
